Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule medical procedures by communicating with patients, physicians, and clinical staff to confirm availability and procedural requirements.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and pre-authorization status to ensure compliance with healthcare policies and reduce scheduling delays.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other scheduling software.
- Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling while minimizing disruptions to clinical operations and patient care.
- Provide timely and clear communication to patients regarding procedure preparation instructions, appointment details, and any necessary follow-up.
- Collaborate with multiple departments including nursing, billing, and medical records to ensure seamless procedural coordination.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues proactively to maintain efficient use of clinical resources.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in medical office administration or healthcare scheduling (e.g., Certified Medical Administrative Assistant).
- Experience working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or specialty medical practice.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare management software.
