About the role

The Procedural Scheduler is responsible for tracking, scheduling, and maintaining outside medical specialist referrals for routine or episodic needs of participants, including lab, medical specialty, transportation requests, and physician/nurse practitioner orders. This role obtains and manages referrals and prior authorizations, serving as the main line of communication with outside medical specialty office staff to coordinate health information and appointments. The position also reviews referrals, follows up, and refers to appropriate staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Track, schedule, and maintain outside medical specialist referrals for participants’ routine or episodic needs.
• Coordinate lab, medical specialty appointments, transportation requests, and physician/nurse practitioner orders.
• Obtain and manage referrals and prior authorizations.
• Serve as the primary communication liaison with outside medical specialty office staff.
• Review referrals, follow up, and refer to appropriate staff as needed.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working in an office setting that includes utilizing a computer for data and word processing.

Qualifications

• Preferred:
• Experience using an electronic medical health record system.
• Experience working with multiple medical offices coordinating and safeguarding protected health information.
• Experience using transportation scheduling software.

Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.44 - $34.33 per hour. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
