PROBATIONARY 7-12 SPANISH TEACHER

About the role

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the NYS Learning Standards for Languages Other Than English (LOTE)/World Languages.

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.

Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to develop students' proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish.

Create a positive classroom environment that fosters student achievement and engagement.

Differentiate instruction and assessments to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Utilize instructional technology to enhance language acquisition and student engagement.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.

Effectively communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.

Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to promote student success.

Qualifications

Required Certification Type: Spanish 7-12 {5150}

NYS Certification in Spanish 7-12 Middle School and/or High School teaching experience preferred

A working knowledge of integrated technology use in the classroom

Highly organized

Effective communicator

Experience utilizing Microsoft Teams as an educational platform

Experience working in a Special Education, co-teach classroom

Experience with proficiency-based language instruction and cultural competency practices
