Department Summary

The Division of Global Engagement (DGE) works to make the University of Oregon a more global university. DGE supports and integrates international engagements, global-scale projects, and transnational partnerships within various academic units.

Position Summary

The Division of Global Engagement invites applicants for temporary, part-time, limited duration teaching positions as Instructors or Professors of Practice. These positions design, lead, or manage educational opportunities that support UO's Global Engagement Mission. Positions may work primarily from the Eugene campus, with potential for work at other UO-affiliated entities.

Course Types

• For-credit courses supporting UO students navigating global engagement experiences (e.g., study abroad programs, international internships, global research projects).
• For-credit courses supporting international student academic and professional goals.
• Non-credit seminars or related instructional opportunities introducing students to global themes and issues.
• Non-credit seminars or related instructional opportunities providing professional development to students, faculty, and professionals from partner institutions.
• Online or remote instructional modules enhancing remote and online instruction success.
• Other instructional opportunities supporting UO's Global Engagement Mission.

Minimum Requirements

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Two years of experience in teaching or instructional design for an institution of higher education OR in the field of international education.
• International experience through study, employment, or residence abroad.

Professional Competencies

• Ability to teach credit courses, non-credit seminars, professional development programs, in-person or online to a variety of learner populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and working with diverse backgrounds.
• Sound, independent judgement aligned with strategic and operational goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience teaching or designing curriculum in an international or cross-cultural environment.
• PhD or other terminal degree.
• Experience with program management in an international context.
