About the role
A Production Operator A is responsible for safety, quality and throughput and is capable of optimizing equipment in various work centers. A Production Operator A will participate as a team in solving problems and implementing solutions to increase Woodstream’s productivity. Their success will be determined by the positive way in which they communicate, cooperate, interact, and contribute towards achieving work center goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Has achieved certification of and operates with proficiency in one or more of the following work centers on the list of the Active Certifications
- Produce consistently, parts and/or product that meets the specified quality requirements
- Proficient in use of gages and tools required to monitor quality
- Perform adjustments of a minor, frequent or repetitious nature, as defined by the work center’s task list and process documentation
- Maintain and support continuous operations in accordance with work center schedules
- Maximize machine efficiency and throughput, and when appropriate, seek assistance for equipment failure
- Interact with others towards accomplishment of team goals/objectives
- Provide quality cross training and support to co-workers as needed. Integrate temporary employees into duties as required
- Participate in identifying problems, suggest improvements and participate where appropriate in implementation of solutions
- Operate in a safe manner and comply with safety policies and procedures at all times
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly way, during and at end of shift
- Record and maintain any data related to work activity in a concise, accurate way, and communicate appropriately
- Will assist in operations in any which way deemed essential to meet production requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Use of micrometer OR hand caliper
- Basic mathematical skills
- Basic problem solving skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- High School Diploma/GED required or 1-2 years experience in a mechanical trade
- Proficiency in reading and writing English
- Ability to pass the Pro A qualification test
