About the role

This position is for a Switchboard Operator PRN responsible for efficiently answering all phone lines, transferring calls appropriately, and handling emergency calls with professionalism. The role requires greeting patients and visitors courteously, contacting nursing staff for medical emergencies, and providing accurate information to visitors.

Responsibilities

• Operate PBX switchboard to route and place calls
• Follow hospital policies and procedures
• Assist patients and families professionally
• Coordinate with medical staff during emergencies
• Support administrative functions related to communication

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to adapt to change and apply new technology
