About the Role

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech-language services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and team collaboration to meet healthcare goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, communicate findings, and involve patients and families in goal setting.
  • Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, monitor patient progress, and consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Modify care plans according to patient condition changes.
  • Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and accurate documentation of patient activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and summaries.
  • Manage time effectively, meet productivity expectations, and ensure flexible, empathetic patient access to care.
  • Pursue professional development, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with orientation and mentoring of staff and students.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).
  • Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, DC, or Virginia, as applicable.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.
