PRN RN - TIER 3

About the role
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. In this position, RNs must commit to working hours set by the Tier 3 commitment agreement.
Responsibilities
RNs with less than 1 year of Nursing experience will:
- Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Implement plan of care appropriate to diagnosis.
- Evaluate care outcomes.
- Problem solve and coordinate unit/patient care assignments, with supervision.
- Introduce new employees/students to unit routines.
- Participate on unit-based committees.
- Demonstrate competence in performing critical skills (checklist) to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required education assignments annually.
- Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties above, RNs with 1 or more years of experience are required to:
- Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.
- Assess learning needs of patient and family.
- Develop and initiate plan of care, involving patient and family.
- Recommend interventions.
- Evaluate plan of care.
- Resolve problems regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
- Demonstrate willingness to precept employees/students as directed.
- Review clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN license.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation.
