About the role
The Rehabilitation Pavilion at DCH offers comprehensive care for patients recovering from conditions like stroke, hip fractures, and pulmonary issues. The facility provides 24-hour medical supervision and utilizes advanced therapy equipment to aid in patient recovery.
Responsibilities
- Directs quality, compassionate care by maintaining professional nursing standards and fostering positive therapeutic relationships.
- Supervises LPNs, PCAs, and other non-licensed staff to ensure effective care delivery.
- Affirms patient and family education based on physical, psychological, and developmental factors.
- Evaluates and reevaluates patient care plans to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
- Assigns and delegates nursing tasks according to patient needs and team capabilities.
- Applies safety principles and documents observations, care provided, and changes in care plans.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and supports changes for improvement.
Requirements
- Current Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or ability to obtain one prior to start.
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required or obtainable within 30 days of start.
- BSN preferred, minimum Associates degree in nursing.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

- Medium work: lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Reasonable distance reaching in all directions.
- Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, sitting, and stooping.
- Running in emergencies.
- Moving fingers in coordination.
- Feeling and perceiving temperature, texture, shape, and size with fingertips.
- Working prolonged shifts.
- Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range.
- Physical presence onsite is essential.
