PRN RN - Emergency Medicine - Pediatrics - Jeff Hwy
About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, while maintaining accountability for quality patient outcomes and demonstrating professional responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Affirmatively assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and group needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions, and adopting communication styles.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Work Experience: None preferred.
Certifications: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 30 days of hire. Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire. Certification in Clinical Specialty Area preferred.
Qualifications
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed.
