PRN RN Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) - OR Circulator

About the Role

As an RN in our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional outpatient surgical care, ensuring patients return home promptly after procedures. This role offers opportunities to interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, enhancing their experience and providing healthcare education.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing care in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
• Assess patient care needs and plan the delivery of care
• Process patients through the ASC and direct other caregivers in providing care
• Assume charge responsibilities, resolve problems, and report variances
• Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families
• Maintain nursing competencies and participate in staff development programs
• Identify self-learning needs, establish goals, and evaluate goal attainment
• Demonstrate respect for cultural and social differences
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, family, and caregiver information
• Contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year of clinical experience as an RN in perioperative or critical care OR three years of experience as a Surgical Technician
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the AHA within six months of hire
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Scrub and Circulate experience

Schedule

Minimum of 1 Saturday per month from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay

Hourly: $41.00 (The displayed pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.)
