ASC Registered Nurse OR Circulator PRN

About the role

The ASC Registered Nurse OR Circulator at Solaris Health Holdings LLC, Spokane, Washington, is responsible for planning and performing all nursing care for patients undergoing surgery and other invasive procedures. This includes managing the surgical environment, preparing tools, and recording all aspects of the operation. The role also involves acting as a patient advocate while the patient is under anesthesia and ensuring the safety of the patient within the period of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Manages all the necessary care inside the surgery room, assisting the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable, safe environment for the patient.
• Ensures all surgical team members perform in a unified effort.
• Acts as an advocate for the patient before, during and after surgery.
• Prepares the surgical tools and materials that the surgical team will need during the operation.
• Records every aspect of an operation, including the names and titles of those performing the surgery, the tools used, the amount of anesthetic a patient received and how long the surgery took.
• Advises the surgical team on potential harm to the patient during surgery.
• Affords assistance to surgeons during the surgery if needed.
• Serves as a communication liaison to the family and operating team.
• Plans, directs, and/or participates in the education of the patient, family, community and health professionals.
• Performs other position related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experienced in OR or perioperative nursing (circulating experience preferred).
• Confident in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced surgical setting.
• Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• A collaborative team player who communicates effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical staff.
• Committed to patient safety, quality care, and positive patient outcomes.
• Adaptable and dependable in an ambulatory surgery center environment.
