PRN/Per Diem Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice patients are comfortable and forge compassionate, meaningful connections with the people in their lives.
• Guide patients and families through the end-of-life journey, maintaining trust.
• Make autonomous care decisions at the bedside to bring comfort to patients.
• Help patients and loved ones understand and embrace the palliative nature of hospice and the benefits of comfort-focused end-of-life care.
• Spend most of the day caring for hospice patients in private residences or assisted living/skilled nursing facilities (typically 4‑6 visits per day).
• Visit the local program office weekly to meet with an interdisciplinary team (social workers, physicians, chaplains, nurses) for holistic patient support.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• At least two years of nursing experience.
• Reliable transportation.

Pay

$41 - $43 per hour.

Schedule

Most nurses make 4‑6 patient visits each day and visit the local program office once a week for interdisciplinary team meetings.
