PRN Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - UH3 Medical Pavilion Clinic

Job Description

This role is open to both Certified Medical Assistant and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) candidates!

Medical Assistant

• Get patients ready for care by prep charts, checking vitals, and setting up the clinic.
• Perform hands-on clinical work such as administering medications, giving immunizations, collecting specimens, and assisting with minor procedures.
• Stay tech-savvy and detail-oriented by keeping patient records updated in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Work as a team player by supporting providers, participating in team huddles, and ensuring the clinic runs smoothly.
• Act as a patient educator by helping patients understand their treatment plans, new medications, and follow-up care.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Deliver compassionate care by providing nursing services under the supervision of a registered nurse in various settings.
• Assess and document patient care with precision and attention to detail.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols.
• Collaborate and communicate with a healthcare team to support patient care.
• Ensure all duties are performed in compliance with the Missouri State Board of Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• For Medical Assistant: High School Diploma or Equivalent and Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA) certification required at time of hire and must be maintained; Current BLS Certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
• For LPN: Graduation from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program; Current license as a practical nurse in the State of Missouri; Certified in Basic Life Support (BCLS).
