Job Summary

The Licensed Behavioral Health Professional PRN is responsible for providing assessments, crisis intervention, and counseling for assigned adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role also coordinates patient transfers, participates in treatment planning, and manages discharge planning.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

• Gathers pertinent information about all assigned patients and completes assessments, including discharge planning needs.
• Coordinates incoming and outgoing patient transfers, demonstrating knowledge of EMTALA laws.
• Participates in treatment planning and coordinates filings for court-ordered mental health services.
• Liaises with patient’s family or other support systems regarding care, treatment plan, and discharge plans.
• Assumes primary responsibility for crisis counseling, psycho-educational services, and discharge planning.
• Maintains current knowledge about adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations and community resources.
• Maintains clinical competence and ensures compliance with patient HIV pre- and post-counseling.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Current licensure in one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, or LPC from the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners or the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
• Certification in non-aggressive crisis management.
• Current JPS recognized Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
