About the role
The Healthcare Professional (Certified, Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse) provides clinical insight, education, and instruction to DASCO and/or CPAP Central (CPC) patients on the safe and appropriate use of home respiratory and other equipment. The role may also involve completing delivery and set-ups, performing pulse oximetry, maintaining equipment knowledge, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting patient care continuity.
Responsibilities
- Educates patients, family, and caregivers on diagnosis, personal care, symptom recognition, equipment use and care, and other relevant information.
- May deliver and set up respiratory equipment and provide related patient instruction in compliance with physician’s orders.
- Supports the continuum of care by creating and/or overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians or other clinicians, and identifying and resolving patient care issues.
- Maintains current and thorough knowledge of DASCO equipment and services; may assist with quality control, equipment maintenance, and general branch operations.
- Explains insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to patients and/or caregivers.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, State Respiratory Care Board, State Pharmacy Board, and all other applicable rules and regulations.
- Maintains current professional licensure or certification, including CEU compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Professional licensure or certification as a Certified, Registered, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist (CRT, RRT), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN).
- Six months’ experience in a clinical services role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Six months’ experience in healthcare, medical, insurance, or DME customer service.

Schedule
This is a Per Diem, PRN position with hours and days scheduled as needed. Optional after-hours on-call coverage may be available.
Work Environment
This role operates primarily in a professional office setting but also spends significant time in clinical settings and patient home residences. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines is required.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Tactile position requiring frequent handling of equipment, gauges, meters, and some physical contact with patients during training or clinical follow-ups.
Travel
Some travel is required, with occasional overnight travel for continuing education or corporate meetings.
