Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide quality care and service across the continuum.
- Provides patient centered and professional education to patient and families.
- Administers medications topically, orally, injection or intravenous as ordered by the physician.
- Administers treatments within his/her scope of practice as ordered by the physician.
- Documents patient care and related information in the EMR.
- Evaluates patient’s progress toward established outcomes.
- Evaluates the patient’s response to and effectiveness of interventions.
- Obtains prior authorizations.
- Participates in obtaining and meeting quality measures.
- Maintains a clean, safe patient environment.
- Maintains appropriate records and assists with coding and patient charges.
- Collects and properly disposes of selected specimens.
- Provides appropriate education to patients/families.
- Cooperates with other personnel to maintain good employee and public relations.
- Informs supervisor or manager of concerns or problems.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.
- Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations.
Skills

- Technical nursing care through interviews, assessments and vital signs.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
