PRN RN Infusion

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Infusion RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Trident Health System. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the healthcare team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates treatment plans. The RN also retrieves blood products and pharmaceuticals from pharmacy, ensures inventory sufficiency, and may supervise students.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina
• BLS – Healthcare provider
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification by ONS (certification should be completed within three months of date of hire)
• Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing
• Experience in Oncology or an Infusion Suite

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform effectively and efficiently all the procedures in the clinic areas
• Responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and storage of equipment, with inspection to assure its readiness for use (sterilized or clean)
• Make notes or dictate notes of patient’s daily progress
• Able to assist in other areas of department when needed
• Must be proficient in operating a computer and operating specific applications such as MediTec and MOSAIQ
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
• Participant in patient teaching
• Participate in facilitating community events and support groups
