About the role

To deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies, and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.

Registered Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in base-line and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.

Moffitt Cancer Center at SouthShore is a 75,000 square feet full-service outpatient facility designed and equipped to provide the same level of cancer care as our main hospital. The Infusion Center at Moffitt Cancer Center at SouthShore (MSS) is currently looking for a PRN Registered Nurse to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families.
• Integrates patient and family centered care and the quality caring factors into practice.
• Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on learning needs of the patient.
• Participates in Evidence based improvement activities related to area of practice.
• Participates in professional development based on the nursing professional’s standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations.

Requirements

• BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience.
• FL RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• An applicant for this position, who will be or is seeking Florida licensure by endorsement, must not have any National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) reports, unless the applicant has successfully appealed to have their name removed from the NPDB.

Qualifications

• Medical and Hematology oncology experience as a registered nurse.
• Outpatient clinic experience as a registered nurse.
• Experience administering IV fluids, IV antibiotics, Chemotherapy, Blood, Platelets.
• Experience accessing ports and changing central line dressings.
• Chemotherapy Certification.

Pay

Salary Range: $44.25 - $44.25. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
