Role Overview
The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT scans, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate results. They operate imaging equipment, prepare patients, and follow established protocols to deliver high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Verify clinician orders, obtain patient history, and assess contraindications.
- Prepare and position patients, administer contrast media, and utilize sterile techniques.
- Operate imaging equipment, adjust techniques for optimal image quality with minimal radiation, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ensure proper patient identification, privacy, and comfort, following safety procedures.
- Respond to emergencies, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, organized department environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff, providing clear explanations and instructions.
- Participate in quality control, review images, and ensure timely delivery to PACS and radiologists.
- Document procedures accurately and assist in training department staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, BLS certifications required.
- Minimum of 1 year radiology experience; CT experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, radiation safety, and quality control standards.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
