PRN Breast Ultrasound Technician

About the role

The Ultrasound Technician at Together Women's Health Imaging Center is responsible for acquiring ultrasound images used in medical diagnoses. This position adheres to applicable scope and standards of practice and aligns with the organization's policies, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

• Greets all patients courteously and ensures their needs are met
• Reviews patient identification and verifies physician orders
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, explaining equipment, and answering questions
• Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions from established protocols, and communicates data to physicians
• Maintains production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Documents patient ultrasound services by completing patient record charting
• Participates in process improvement activities within radiology practice including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified ultrasound program
• ARDMS certified and in good standing
• Extensive breast ultrasound experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner
