Schedule: PRN (as needed), Day Shift
Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
- Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions, and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
- Utilizes the Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput using hand-held technology for tracking.
- Uses equipment such as cleaning/trash carts and other janitorial supplies.
- Collects and stages soiled linen for pickup.
- Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
- Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
- Documents all work performed.
- Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, and offices in assigned areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within environmental services.
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard.
- Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interact with patients.
- Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Housekeeping or custodial experience (preferred).
- Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of additional languages (preferred).
Skills
Proficiency in infection control, isolation procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Pay
$15.68 - $25.09 per hour.
