PRN/As Needed Peer Support Specialist II - Nights

This is a pool/non-exempt, as-needed position based at the Crisis - Recovery Response Center in Peoria, AZ. Shift details: 7:00pm - 7:30am; required to work two 12-hour shifts per month. Availability to attend court hearings during standard business hours is required when listed as a witness on a petition.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and assists in identifying participants’ hopes, dreams, and the solutions they are seeking.
• Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Models hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy to demonstrate how recovery goals can be respectfully met and how a belief in self is maintained.
• Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
• Cultivates connectedness in the person’s life (self, others, the environment, and to meaning and purpose).
• Completes clinical documentation as required.
• Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws, and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
• Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
• Coordinates with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Peer Employment Training, thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old (or meet state-specific minimum age requirements).
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
• Must be able to pass a seven-year background check, substance abuse testing, and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
• Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
• Must be able to pass education verification check.
• If driving is required: Must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy, pass a three-year motor vehicle report, and meet minimum eligibility requirements of insurance carrier. Proof of personal auto insurance with minimum coverage levels may be required.

State-Specific Requirements

• Arizona: Must be 21 years or older. Required to attend court hearings when listed as a witness on a petition.
• Louisiana: Must be 24 years or older.
• North Carolina: Proof of valid and unrestricted Driver’s License. Proof of up-to-date vaccination records, including childhood vaccinations. If records are inaccessible, must complete and provide proof prior to hire. Must clear the authorized driving component for Recovery Innovations.
• Washington: Additional specified state registration for Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC).

Physical Demands

• May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses.
• May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Work Environment

• May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility.
• May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
• Warmline over-the-phone Peer Support Specialists will work remotely and not be in an office or behavioral health facility.

Pay

$21.50 - $23.50/hour
