About the role
Provide compassionate, peer-based support to young people experiencing behavioral health crises at a youth crisis center.
Responsibilities
- Utilize lived experience to promote recovery, resilience, and empowerment among youth.
- Assist youth in understanding and accessing available services and advocating for themselves.
- Support crisis de-escalation, stabilization, and immediate behavioral health needs.
- Contribute to a trauma-informed, collaborative crisis environment.
- Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Idaho Peer Support Specialist certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to secure Optum Idaho Youth Peer Support Endorsement.
- High school diploma or GED and ability to pass background checks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, crisis intervention abilities, and a compassionate approach.
