Peer Support Specialist - PRN

About the role

Provide compassionate, peer-based support to young people experiencing behavioral health crises at a youth crisis center.

Responsibilities

• Utilize lived experience to promote recovery, resilience, and empowerment among youth.
• Assist youth in understanding and accessing available services and advocating for themselves.
• Support crisis de-escalation, stabilization, and immediate behavioral health needs.
• Contribute to a trauma-informed, collaborative crisis environment.
• Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Idaho Peer Support Specialist certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to secure Optum Idaho Youth Peer Support Endorsement.
• High school diploma or GED and ability to pass background checks.
• Strong interpersonal skills, crisis intervention abilities, and a compassionate approach.
