About the role
The Administrative Supervisor facilitates safe and timely patient flow, provides off-shift operational oversight, and ensures the delivery of high-quality care across the acute-care hospital. This role serves as a clinical resource, manages staffing coordination, and acts as the first responder for emergency events during the assigned shift.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical resource for nursing units and allied health departments to resolve shift-specific issues.
- Ensure safe and timely patient flow throughout the facility; coordinate intrasystem transfers.
- Participate in clinical observation and assessment to determine appropriate patient placement.
- Oversee staffing resources in collaboration with department leadership and the corporate staffing office.
- Maintain a visible and collegial leadership presence across the facility during the shift.
- Act as first responder for all emergency code events and house alerts.
- Document patient census, events, and flow outcomes using bed-management programs and the electronic health record.
- Provide leadership guidance on Orlando Health policies, procedures, legal/risk issues, and regulatory compliance.
- Respond to and resolve concerns from team members, patients, families, and providers; ensure follow-up with appropriate parties.
- Support, educate, coach, and mentor team members.
- Assist personnel and families with matters surrounding patient death, including autopsy arrangements, organ/tissue donation, and Medical Examiner referrals.
- Serve as central intake for ADA-related matters, language/cultural issues, and facilitate necessary assistance.
- Manage human-resource functions, including interviewing, onboarding, evaluating personnel, reinforcing care/conduct standards, and issuing corrective actions.
- Provide crisis-management support and coordinate follow-up with the Administrator-on-Call (AOC).
- Serve as Incident Commander for all HICS events until the hospital administrator arrives.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal/state/local standards.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current Florida RN license.
- National certification in specialty area within 2 years of hire.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, NALS, or TNCC as required by specialty.
- Minimum 2 years of acute-care RN experience.
