Job Summary

The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for performing diversified receptionist duties, coordinating all phases of patient visits, and ensuring proper documentation of records to provide optimal care. This position involves direct patient contact and requires the ability to interact with the public positively, enhancing the hospital image. Work assignments are determined based on adjusting daily scheduled appointments and prioritizing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Collects all demographic/financial information from patients or insurance providers for registration.
• Documents total care given and maintains patient charts according to policy.
• Aids in accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
