Role
The Consultant role requires working collaboratively with consulting teams and clients to design and execute operational and performance improvement projects of varying size and complexity across multiple industries. This role will apply improvement principles, processes, and tools to drive financial and operational results for our clients and long-term operational improvement.
Responsibilities
- Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth operational and commercial due diligence for potential manufacturing acquisitions. This includes market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, operational efficiency analysis, and identifying key risks and value creation opportunities.
- Value Creation & Portfolio Support: Partner with private equity firms and their portfolio company management teams to drive operational improvements. This may include: Supply chain optimization and cost reduction initiatives, Lean manufacturing and process efficiency projects, Digital transformation and technology implementation (e.g., ERP, MES), Post-merger integration planning and execution, Developing and implementing strategic growth plans.
- Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis: Perform rigorous financial modeling, data analysis, and market research to support recommendations and investment theses. Synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and compelling presentations and reports for senior stakeholders.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity clients, understanding their needs and delivering high-quality, actionable insights. Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding them through critical business decisions.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables from initial scoping to final presentation, ensuring projects are completed on time and exceed client expectations.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Engineering, Analytics, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., P.E., Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Consulting or Industry experience; consulting experience preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Operations Environment, Consulting or Industry. Experience in Private Equity highly preferred.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement Tools, such as Kaisen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to interpret financial statements and P&L.
- Ability to effectively design, gain alignment and successfully execute significant change initiatives from project start to finish.
- Prioritize effectively, ensure high-quality analysis through targeted data gathering and proficient execution.
Consulting & Communication Skills
- Master consulting tools (MS Office), gain expertise in additional IT applications, communicate clearly using horizontal/vertical logic.
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau
Professional Competencies
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, escalate issues appropriately, and keep information confidential is critical to this position.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
- Maintain a professional presence with fluent proficiency; excel in meeting participation and presentations.
- Demonstrated strong business acumen
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
