ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

Collaborates with sales staff, both locally and long distance, as well as carrier partners in developing and executing marketing and placement strategies to drive new business growth
Generates quotes utilizing carrier online quoting and comparative rating systems and creates professional, detailed proposals per agency standards
Enters prospect and underwriting information into agency management system and maintains organized account files with proper documentation
Negotiates account eligibility and optimum coverage terms with insurance carriers
Maintains knowledge of carrier and broker appetites and specialty programs including attending carrier meetings to stay apprised of market and rate changes
Effectively communicates quoted coverages, costs, and deductibles to producers including identifying and suggesting coverage enhancements and mitigation opportunities
Coordinates and issues invoices, certificates of insurance, Broker of Record requests, auto ID cards, communication with mortgagees, filings, and binders
Assists in providing a seamless transition from marketing to assigned servicing team
Manages day to day relationships with carrier partners and assists in building long term partnerships
Assists in upholding company appetite and standards while building relationships with producers and contributing to their success
Strives to help meet or exceed agency and department goals and deadlines including assisting other team members as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

An active Property & Casualty License required
Math skills and familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts, and commissions
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while responding to requests in a timely, accurate, and friendly manner
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and quick turnaround demands
Strong computer proficiency
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Willing to work overtime if necessary due to cyclical nature of business
