Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious breakfasts each weekday
- Create healthy, creative, and kid-friendly school lunch boxes for the children
- Prepare and serve delicious, well-balanced family dinners Monday through Friday
- Design seasonal weekly menus tailored to the family's dietary preferences with an emphasis on clean, healthy eating
- Source high-quality ingredients, including organic produce, premium meats, seafood, and other specialty items from local New York markets
- Handle all grocery shopping, provisioning, and pantry management
- Maintain kitchen inventory and ensure staple ingredients are consistently stocked
- Maintain a spotless, organized kitchen while upholding the highest standards of sanitation and food safety
- Wash dishes and thoroughly clean all cooking areas following meal preparation
- Ensure compliance with all food safety practices and accommodate any dietary restrictions or food allergies
Requirements
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional private chef experience
- Minimum 3-5+ years of experience working as a private chef for families in a private home
- Demonstrated experience preparing nutritious meals for families with school-aged children
- Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Passion for healthy, seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine and clean eating
- Creative approach to preparing balanced, appealing meals that children enjoy
- Warm, adaptable, and professional demeanor with the ability to integrate seamlessly into a private household
- Ability to maintain complete discretion and respect the family's privacy at all times
- Likewise, legal authorization to work in the United States (W-2 payroll)
