Position Highlights
The position highlights include:
- Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Privacy
- Contributes to the achievement of corporate compliance and privacy programs
- Investigates, audits, and monitors planning and fieldwork
- Communicates necessary corrective action and follows up to ensure implementation
- Manages breach letter notification process
- Trains associates on privacy issues
- Maintains current knowledge of privacy laws and technologies
- Supports Directors and Managers in meeting federal and state reporting requirements
- Conducts privacy rounds and documents findings
What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Investigation, Audit, and Monitoring
- Conducts timely investigations of reported privacy and compliance incidents
- Completes assigned project plan steps for more complex investigations, audits, and monitoring activities
- Documents results in case management software or audit workpapers
- Organizes investigation folders according to department procedures
- Reporting and Corrective Action
- Formulates recommendations for corrective action
- Communicates necessary corrective actions and follows up to ensure implementation
- Manages breach letter notification process including drafting letters and patient correspondence
- Training and Education
- Conducts educational sessions about privacy issues
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws and technologies
- Supports Directors and Managers in meeting federal and state reporting requirements
- Conducts privacy rounds and documents findings
What You Will Need
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree, required
- 3+ years of experience in compliance and/or privacy departments
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to learn new software tools
- Knowledge of and experience with healthcare compliance laws and regulations (HIPAA/HITECH, Stark, Anti-kickback, EMTALA, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
Privacy and Compliance Analyst
Location: Warrenville, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Required Travel: frequent travel throughout the system will be required. Every other Monday to either Arlington Heights, Elmhurst, or Skokie and additional frequent travel throughout the system for trainings and meetings.
