Privacy and Compliance Analyst

Position Highlights

The position highlights include:

• Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Privacy
• Contributes to the achievement of corporate compliance and privacy programs
• Investigates, audits, and monitors planning and fieldwork
• Communicates necessary corrective action and follows up to ensure implementation
• Manages breach letter notification process
• Trains associates on privacy issues
• Maintains current knowledge of privacy laws and technologies
• Supports Directors and Managers in meeting federal and state reporting requirements
• Conducts privacy rounds and documents findings

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigation, Audit, and Monitoring
• Conducts timely investigations of reported privacy and compliance incidents
• Completes assigned project plan steps for more complex investigations, audits, and monitoring activities
• Documents results in case management software or audit workpapers
• Organizes investigation folders according to department procedures
• Reporting and Corrective Action
• Formulates recommendations for corrective action
• Communicates necessary corrective actions and follows up to ensure implementation
• Manages breach letter notification process including drafting letters and patient correspondence
• Training and Education
• Conducts educational sessions about privacy issues
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws and technologies
• Supports Directors and Managers in meeting federal and state reporting requirements
• Conducts privacy rounds and documents findings

What You Will Need

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree, required
• 3+ years of experience in compliance and/or privacy departments
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to learn new software tools
• Knowledge of and experience with healthcare compliance laws and regulations (HIPAA/HITECH, Stark, Anti-kickback, EMTALA, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good time management and organizational skills

Privacy and Compliance Analyst

Location: Warrenville, IL

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Travel: frequent travel throughout the system will be required. Every other Monday to either Arlington Heights, Elmhurst, or Skokie and additional frequent travel throughout the system for trainings and meetings.
