Printing Specialist

About the role

Operate and maintain printing systems to produce quality printed material. Responsible for routine care of the press and for handling minor mechanical and chemical problems or adjustments to ensure proper paper feeding. Prepare digital data and surfaces to reproduce printed or graphic images. Initiate digital imposition, digital imaging, computer direct-to-plate and direct-to-press processes. Assist as needed with duties associated with post-press finishing, including folding, collating and bindery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare digital data and surfaces to reproduce printed or graphic images.
• Initiate digital imposition, digital imaging, computer direct-to-plate and direct-to-press processes.
• Absorb as needed with duties associated with post-press finishing, including folding, collating and bindery.

Requirements

• Proficiency in setup, operation and minor maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to stoop to floor level and bend at waist for loading/unloading of paper.
• Capacity to stand for most of the 8-hour workday.
• Safely manage usage and exposure to printing/cleaning chemicals, and equipment noise.
• Knowledge of various digital and offset press processes.
• Computer literacy in Windows based environment.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$19.28 - $23.13/ hour minimum starting pay
