About the role
The ideal candidate will operate screen printing equipment to produce high-quality printed grass cloth, fabric, and wallpaper products. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a passion for creating visually stunning designs. It is a highly visible position that plays a key role in shaping and supporting Schumacher’s manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust screens for printing
- Prepare screens and ink for production runs
- Monitor print quality and make adjustments as needed to ensure consistency
- Clean and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow production schedules and meet deadlines for completing printing jobs
- Inspect prints for defects and ensure quality standards are met
- Work collaboratively with design and production teams to achieve project goals
Requirements
- Able to lift and physically print on grasscloth, fabric, and wallpaper using screens and printing equipment
- Strong understanding of color, paint, and printing techniques
- Ability to interpret design specifications and reproduce patterns accurately
- Attention to detail and quality with a focus on precise printing
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting equipment issues
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy rolls of wallpaper
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and change direction based on business needs
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Action-oriented and enjoys working hard and smart
- A team player who is cooperative, gains trust, and supports peers
- An "all hands on deck" mentality, willing to pitch in with multiple team members
- Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
