Printing Services - Student Assistant

About the Role

Under direct supervision of the Director, student assistants in Printing Services receive lead work direction from the Printing Services Lead. The department provides printing services, copier fleet support, and secure shredding throughout campus. This position primarily supports printing and shredding operations, delivers packages, and picks up shredding bins, while also assisting with binding and production needs in the printing facility. Student assistants will use a university-supplied vehicle and must pass a defensive driving course.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver print orders to various on-campus departments.
• Operate a large truck with a lift gate to collect shred bins and boxes from campus departments.
• Process shredding requests into an industrial-grade shredder using electric bin dumpers.
• Assist with bindery tasks such as binding, trimming, and assembling printed materials.
• Replenish paper stock for printing operations and restock toner cartridges for the campus copier fleet.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of shredding activities and requests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn and perform assigned work, follow oral instructions, work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students, and communicate effectively.
• Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
• Admission or registration as a CSU student.
• Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
• Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
• International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Social Security Card required for payroll.

Pay

Anticipated hiring range: $16.90 per hour. Compensation considers internal equity and experience.

Schedule

• Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
• Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal, on-campus position. Student employees are not eligible to telecommute.
