About the role
The Machine Operator reports to the Printing Shift Supervisor and is responsible for operating a dry offset printing press, packing and unpacking rigid plastic containers and lids, and ensuring product quality in the Lee’s Summit Printing Department.
Responsibilities
- Start, stop, run, and tear down Dry Offset Printing Presses
- Perform job kit verification, line clearance, replacing plates, and washing and preparing color heads
- Operate all lid and base presses, including six and eight color presses
- Pack and unpack boxes of finished products according to customer requirements
- Remove and handle trending tray product samples
- Apply labels to boxes and stamp every box without pre-labeling
- Cover other Machine Operators during their lunch and breaks
- Monitor product quality by visually inspecting products at the packing station and maintaining the trending tray
- Perform product control duties, update job cards, and enter information on the daily machine scheduling and attainment board
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring safety is never compromised
- Treat fellow team members with honesty, respect, and dignity
- Meet standards of conduct and adhere to 5S, HACCP, and Health and Safety rules
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six months of work experience in a printing or manufacturing environment
- Dry Offset printing experience required
- Fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills
