Printing - Machine Operator (A Shift, 7am - 7pm)

About the role

The Machine Operator reports to the Printing Shift Supervisor and is responsible for operating a dry offset printing press, packing and unpacking rigid plastic containers and lids, and ensuring product quality in the Lee’s Summit Printing Department.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop, run, and tear down Dry Offset Printing Presses
• Perform job kit verification, line clearance, replacing plates, and washing and preparing color heads
• Operate all lid and base presses, including six and eight color presses
• Pack and unpack boxes of finished products according to customer requirements
• Remove and handle trending tray product samples
• Apply labels to boxes and stamp every box without pre-labeling
• Cover other Machine Operators during their lunch and breaks
• Monitor product quality by visually inspecting products at the packing station and maintaining the trending tray
• Perform product control duties, update job cards, and enter information on the daily machine scheduling and attainment board
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring safety is never compromised
• Treat fellow team members with honesty, respect, and dignity
• Meet standards of conduct and adhere to 5S, HACCP, and Health and Safety rules

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum six months of work experience in a printing or manufacturing environment
• Dry Offset printing experience required
• Fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills
