Start-up, troubleshoot, and monitor a 1 or 2 station printing press to meet quality and productivity standards. Perform diversified duties to inspect and ship product in accordance with product specifications and department schedules. Print heat transfer decals safely, correctly, and consistently under the direction of the Production Supervisor, adhering to ITW Graphics-IDS Safety and Quality Specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required set-up operations at multiple print stations to be run simultaneously, based on specification sheets, prescribed procedures, or verbal communication. Ensure correct stock, screens, and inks are used.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels at all stages of manufacture and report discrepancies to supervisor.
- Make prescribed adjustments in feed stroke, squeegee levels, and length. Check tension to correspond with mesh requirements.
- Ensure color standards and AQS file are available on press.
- Start-up press and monitor registration and ink performance. Troubleshoot press and ink problems, making alterations to ink for acceptable viscosity and adjustments to press for corrections of defects. Adjust indexing between two print stations as needed.
- Perform on-press inspection to ensure quality standards are met.
- Complete required paperwork and make appropriate notations.
- Maintain effective communication with other department personnel to resolve press-related problems and support workflow. Provide recommendations for improved quality in product and process.
- Perform job and color changes, ensuring press is cleaned properly, screens are free of defects, and images are clear.
- Report unusual or irresolvable situations to appropriate personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Ability to read, understand, and follow all relevant work instructions.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages.
- Basic computer skills for operating Quality Control instrumentation, ink scheduling, and recordkeeping.
Physical/Visual Demands
- Constantly (67% - 100%) required to twist/turn, stand, walk, and grasp; frequently (34% - 66%) bend/squat, crawl, handle, and manipulate small items.
- Occasionally (1% - 33%) climb, reach above shoulder, reach outward, sit, and type.
- Frequently carry up to 65 pounds; often carry 100 pounds or greater with lifting equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required: concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
- Manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, ability to quickly make precise adjustments to machine controls, finger dexterity, multi-limb coordination, flexibility, and quick reaction time.
Working Conditions
- Plant conditions (100%).
- Use of hand tools, lifting devices, and proper PPE.
Pay
$20-$22 per hour.
