Printed Circuit Board Designer

About the role

As a Printed Circuit Board Designer, you will work in the EDA software environment, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers throughout the design and manufacture of advanced PCB designs.

Responsibilities

• Work with electrical engineers to design class 3 space-rated printed circuit boards, including high-speed digital, high power, sensitive analog, and RF boards.
• Design rigid, rigid-flex, and flex circuit boards, ensuring compliance with mechanical constraints such as board size, keep-outs, and overall fit.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate PCB designs into mechanical assemblies.
• Participate in all phases of hardware development: PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
• Review footprints and 3D models with the librarian to ensure correct part fitment.
• Work with the PCB design senior technologist on stack-ups, power integrity, and signal integrity.
• Engage with PCB manufacturers on design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Assist in the creation of printed wiring assembly (PWA) drawings.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, certificate, or applicable electronics experience.
• Strong working knowledge of electronic components and their basic functions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Xpedition Layout.
• Experience as a PCB Designer across a variety of PCB types.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and datasheets.

Pay

Salary range: $52,000 – $110,000. Compensation is based on education and relevant experience, with adjustments for role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications.
