About the role
The Print Center Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering a wide range of printing, copying, scanning, bindery, signage, mailing, shipping, and document production services to various departments within Devon. This position involves both production tasks and customer service, ensuring that all materials are produced accurately, confidentially, and on time.
Responsibilities
- Produce a variety of internal print and document production requests, including reports, presentations, manuals, training materials, forms, business cards, maps, signage, posters, banners, and other business materials.
- Review and prepare files before production, such as checking PDFs, resizing files, adjusting margins, adjusting print settings, checking page counts, and converting documents as needed.
- Perform printing, copying, scanning, binding, cutting, folding, laminating, mounting, booklet making, tab insertion, collating, hole punching, and wide-format printing.
- Communicate with internal customers to clarify job requirements, deadlines, file issues, production options, delivery timing, cost estimates, and job status; provide recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness.
- Manage and prioritize incoming requests, including rush jobs, executive requests, field operations needs, and deadline-driven work.
- Support mailing, shipping, package preparation, postage processing, shipment tracking, and occasional event-related print support as needed.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, troubleshoot basic issues, coordinate service calls, track inventory, order supplies, and organize stock to minimize downtime.
- Ensure completed work meets expectations for accuracy, quality, timeliness, and overall presentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, improve turnaround times, and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Office Administration, Office Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline is preferred.
- 5+ years of print center, reprographics, office services, or related production experience preferred.
Skills/Competencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Experience with production print, wide-format, finishing, bindery, mailing, and shipping equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, PRISMAprepare, Onyx Thrive, scanning software, FedEx shipping software, and USPS mailing software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Able to manage multiple requests, prioritize deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive documents with discretion.
- Willingness and ability to learn Print Center equipment, workflows, production standards, software, and new production methods over time.
Physical Requirements
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the Print Center, as well as occasional seated work at a computer.
- Requires the ability to push carts, move materials, load paper, handle large-format media, and lift supplies or materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
