Principal UX Content Strategist
About the role
The User Experience Content team at Fidelity contributes to various financial services platforms including Fidelity.com, NetBenefits.com, and the NetBenefits mobile app. This team focuses on making complex financial concepts accessible and guiding users towards informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop content strategies and scalable solutions for NetBenefits.com and the NetBenefits mobile app.
- Translate complex financial concepts into intuitive, actionable experiences that help participants understand and act on workplace benefits, retirement planning, and financial wellness opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Research, and Legal, Risk & Compliance partners to shape content across key participant experiences, including onboarding, engagement, planning, and decision-making.
- Create content that reduces complexity, builds trust, and guides participants through critical financial moments.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or related fields, preferably within financial services, benefits, healthcare, retirement, fintech, or similar complex domains.
- Proven track record as a collaborative, confident leader with strong strategic thinking and hands-on execution skills.
- Experience shaping content across large-scale digital ecosystems, customer journeys, and product experiences.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate highly cross-functional environments.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex financial, regulatory, product, and benefits-related concepts into clear, actionable, customer-centered content.
- Strong understanding of or proven ability to deeply learn retirement products and planning, workplace benefits, and financial wellness.
- Experience designing content for customers with varying levels of financial literacy and confidence, and using research data and insights to fuel iterations and improvements.
- Experience defining content standards, governance models, content frameworks, and scalable approaches across products or platforms.
- A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking across complex systems and customer journeys, the ability to influence product direction through content, and strong execution across web and mobile experiences.
Qualifications

Pay
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role is currently based in an onsite working model. However, Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
