As the Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will own the complexity and vast technical workstreams across all aspects of our program. You will set the strategy and mechanisms that maximize decision-making velocity by removing obstacles across the organization. This role is empowered to audit, evaluate, and escalate risk to functional and senior leadership when a technical decision or delivery status poses a risk to the schedule or overall technical vision. You will drive the total timing, manage risks/issues and dependencies, and influence the long-term technical direction of the program.
Responsibilities
- Establish and own the mechanisms and cadence to manage the Amazon industrial robotic program.
- Manage escalations or misalignments when there are risks to delivering committed services with high quality; facilitate/lead tradeoff decisions with customers, stakeholders, and partner teams when there are conflicting priorities.
- Work with teams to determine whether a decision is a one-way or two-way door; manage necessary discussions with customer and partner teams to set expectations, impacts, and risks associated with said decision(s).
- Ensure role clarity and escalate to functional leadership when misalignments impact delivering on commitments.
- Develop and publish a clear RACI to create transparency with customer teams and drive ownership and accountability.
- Coordinate across internal teams to ensure alignment and enablement of delivering deployment services.
- Exercise strong technical judgement to influence and drive deployment methodology expertise to program-level decisions.
- Understand scalability requirements and determine feasibility of technology deployments at scale—acting as the voice back to Product and Engineering teams to protect for those requirements on emerging technical products.
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing complex technology projects.
- Experience managing hardware programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules across HW/SW/science workstreams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience managing complex technology projects.
- Experience delivering robotics, industrial automation, or complex electromechanical systems from development through deployment at scale.
- Experience building sustainable processes across hardware, software, and science teams.
- Experience working in Scaled Agile Frameworks across HW/SW teams.
Pay
- USA, MA, North Reading: $177,000.00 - $239,400.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $177,000.00 - $239,400.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $177,000.00 - $239,400.00 USD annually
