About the role

We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer for our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in the Washington, DC metro area or Natick, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to lead analytical and computer problem-solving
  • Perform experimental field investigations and diagnostic surveys
  • Develop and maintain client relations
  • Absorb and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry
  • Lead business generation and client development efforts
  • Inspect, analyze, and determine root causes of structural/building envelope performance failures
  • Conduct projects and supervise others analytical and computer problem solving
  • Lead field investigations and diagnostic surveys
  • Prepare and present technical reports and complicated engineering assessments
  • Continued professional development towards maintaining professional expertise
  • Provide expert testimony where appropriate

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • Significant business development experience with a proven track record
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in at least one state
  • The ability to attract projects to support full-time staff and to manage and develop a group of highly motivated individuals
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical engineering and project management post-graduation
  • An outstanding professional reputation with an existing client base
  • Experience providing expert testimony in a dispute resolution setting
  • Experience in construction claims, dispute resolution, and litigation services
  • Experience in architectural engineering and building technology is a plus, but not required
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to positively interact with professionals, technical staff, and administrative staff
  • Outstanding professional reputation and a record of publications
  • A dedication to quality and accuracy

USD $181,000.00 - USD $284,000.00 /Yr.
