PRINCIPAL STRUCTURAL BUILDING INFORMATION MODEL (BIM) SPECIALIST

What You'll Be Doing
- Efficiently and accurately completes a variety of structural design assignments such as preparation of 3D models and drawings in Autodesk Revit and other design deliverables suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings and 3D models.
- Prepares engineering material quantity takeoffs.
- Interfaces with other Engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design products.
- Provides technical guidance to lower-level CAD Drafters and 3D Model Designers.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Proficient in advanced core building information modeling software packages/workflows and related modeling principles and application.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering principles; apply concepts to modeling assignments.
- Understanding of hardware and software used in CAD and BIM (including deployment processes, requirements and troubleshooting).
Required Skills
- US Citizenship required.
- Typically 12+ years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in utilizing Autodesk Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with mechanical design is required.
- Familiarity of industry practices and regulations is required.
- Experience in creating structural BIM models on US Government projects, including substructures, above-grade concrete structures, steel framing design, and connection detailing.
Desired Skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- A thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
Pay and Benefits
Salary Range: $42.50 - $74.38
