Principal / Sr. Principal Project Management

This position follows a 9/80 work schedule and is designated as hybrid, requiring onsite presence in El Segundo, California. A U.S. Government Secret clearance is required to start.

About the role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Global Supply Chain Principal Project Management Specialist or Sr. Principal Project Management Specialist. The Project Manager will support the sustainment or training business area as a focal point for the GSC organization, overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects. This role serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. The role requires effective communication and relationship-building with the broader GSC organization and across program IPTs.

Responsibilities

• Review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
• Ensure consistency in GSC processes and draft work instructions and workflows where applicable.
• Act as a GSC focal point with various program IPTs and Sub IPTs.
• Analyze data and information to build and present program-level leadership briefings focused on status and critical milestones.
• Assist with different GSC sustainment initiatives.
• Integrate with various GSC functional organizations.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance (required to start).
• Travel: 10% of the time.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using SAP, ERP, or other related business software applications.

Qualifications

Principal Project Management (Level 3):

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years, Master’s degree with 3 years, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree in project/program management, procurement, subcontracts, or supplier management.

Sr. Principal Project Management (Level 4):

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years, Master’s degree with 6 years, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree in project/program management, procurement, subcontracts, or supplier management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• CAM (Cost Account Manager) experience.
• Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
• Sustainment experience (supporting spares and repairs).
• Experience in design and development.
• Proposal experience, including reviewing and estimating impacts.
• Previous experience with FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations.
• Special Program Access.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 – $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 – $176,300.00

The above salary ranges represent general guidelines. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
