About the Role

Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for our Machining & Fabrication Product Center. This role supports various module center parts, including engine hot section components such as airfoils, turbine castings, nozzles, and other critical components for commercial and military engine programs. As part of the Supply Chain Quality Group, you will work closely with suppliers to ensure the delivery of affordable, high-quality parts that meet dynamic customer needs. The role focuses on proactive quality initiatives, supplier interface, and process improvements to enhance supplier quality and customer confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvements in escape management, standard work, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement using CORE tools (Standard Work, DIVEs, mistake-proofing, etc.).
  • Coordinate quality issues with Pratt & Whitney Engineering and Supplier Engineering to resolve supplier escapes and execute supply chain quality improvement plans.
  • Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews for continuous improvement, establish VCABs with critical suppliers, and initiate and execute improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quality procedures, quality management systems, AS9100, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality systems compliance in aerospace and related industries.
  • Creative troubleshooting skills and the ability to craft clear communications across teams and organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project).
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers (e.g., DCMA, FAA).
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, and GD&T elements.
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving and continuous improvement principles (Six Sigma, Red-X, Lean, CORE, QCPC, DIVE).
  • Experience developing and mentoring other leaders.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
