About the Role

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, we are seeking a Principal Specialist, Contracts to join our Undersea Systems portfolio under the Naval Power Strategic Business Unit. This role supports the preparation and submission of proposals for new business, including spares, repairs, and modernization across multiple customers. You will closely partner with functional program team members to understand, guide, and support the performance of contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Finance, and Supply Chain to manage successful contract execution.
  • Identify, mitigate, and drive resolution of contractual issues.
  • Ensure negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies.
  • Provide guidance on contractual and business issues, rights, obligations, and risk mitigation.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Interface with customers for correspondence, contractual changes, and issues.

Qualifications

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in contracts management, program management, business management, finance, supply chain processes, and procurement.
  • Experience with contracts, terms and conditions, RFPs, RFQs, FAR, DFARS, or similar.

Preferred

  • Wide experience in contract negotiations, execution, and administration, including price, Statements of Work, terms, and agreements like Proprietary Information Agreements.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS) requirements.
  • Understanding of financial aspects of contracts and risk quantification.
  • Experience with Intellectual Property (IP), licensing agreements, or teaming agreements.
  • Knowledge of the Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act (formerly TINA).
  • Advanced Degrees such as MBA, JD, Law Degree, or Master of Science in Finance.

What You Will Learn

  • Contracting with multiple Government and non-Government customers via traditional and non-traditional contract vehicles.
  • Active role in managing contracts and engaging with program leadership.
  • Development and Production-focused contracts to meet domestic, FMS, and Subcontractor requirements.
  • Business management reviews with leadership support, such as quarterly EAC Reviews.

Role Type

This is a remote position. Employees will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate must reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
