About the role

Join Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH as a Principal, Site Reliability Engineer. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems, spearheading projects to improve FFIO Market Data Services. Work closely with a team of committed experts and create a substantial influence on our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale systems with demonstrated expertise in site reliability.
  • Drive projects end-to-end, focusing on automation, monitoring, and incident management.
  • Collaborate with a team of industry leaders to ensure outstanding FFIO Market Data Services.
  • Provide production on-call support for Cloud Infrastructure, especially in the EKS platform.
  • Experience with load balancer traffic distribution, particularly with Akamai and VMware Avi.
  • Expertise in change, incident, problem management, and on-call support.
  • Knowledge of observability tools like DataDog and Grafana.
  • Experience with multiple AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, NLB, IAM, Lambda, Cloud-Watch, Cloud Trail, and VPC.
  • Rehydration or patching knowledge in cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with microservices architecture like API Gateway or APIGEE.
  • Ability to triage, execute root cause analysis, and make decisive decisions under pressure.
  • Capable of working with a variety of individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually, to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Proficiency in automation using Python.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with database administration, especially with Yugabyte.
  • Experience in document creation for knowledge and process.

Requirements

  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable, but relevant experience is valued.
  • Experience: Strong background in managing large-scale systems, automation, monitoring, and incident management.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional DevOps Engineer are a plus.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge on Production on-call support for Cloud Infrastructure, experience with AWS services, proficiency in observability tools, automation using Python, experience with CI/CD tools, and exposure to database administration and document creation.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge on Production on-call support for Cloud Infrastructure in the EKS platform.
  • Experience with load balancer traffic distribution, especially with Akamai and VMware Avi.
  • Extensive experiences in Change, Incident, Problem Management & on-call support.
  • Extensive knowledge on observability tools (preferably DataDog and Grafana).
  • Experience in monitoring various aspects like Log, Metrics, APM, Event, Infrastructure & Dashboard creation.
  • Experience in multiple AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, NLB, IAM, Lambda, Cloud-Watch, Cloud Trail, and VPC.
  • Rehydration or patching knowledge in cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in microservices architecture like API Gateway or APIGEE.
