Responsibilities

Service Ownership – You will be part of the SRE team, sharing full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas with Development partners.

• Ownership Scope – Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and behavioral characteristics of production services. Ensure services are designed and delivered with a focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. SREs are accountable for the end-to-end performance and operability of their services.
• Service Design – Partner with development teams to define and implement improvements in service architecture. Guide teams in articulating technical characteristics and dependencies, and support federal project submission and security compliance for new platforms.
• Operations Engineering – Communicate scale, capacity, security, and performance requirements. Understand and articulate service stack characteristics, including degradation under load, tuning needs, instrumentation, scaling, resiliency, and security operations.
• Automation – Embrace automation and orchestration principles to eliminate technical debt wherever possible.
• Prevention – Resolve issues authoritatively and work to prevent recurrence through improved processes and automation.
• Technical Experts – Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues, providing deep expertise during major incidents.
• Broad Interests – Combine sysadmin and development skills to understand the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.
• Represent SRE – Act as a proactive, self-motivated, customer-focused, and organized communicator, representing Cloud products and engineering in critical forums.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of service ownership, including end-to-end configuration, dependencies, and performance attributes
• Experience with service design and architecture improvements in cloud environments
• Proficiency in operations engineering, including scaling, resiliency, security, and automation
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act as a subject matter expert during incidents
• Broad technical interests, combining sysadmin and development expertise
• Proactive, customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills

Pay

Hiring range in the U.S. is from $84,900 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
