Principal ProPricer Analyst
Remote position reporting to the Director of Proposals.
About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal ProPricer Analyst to support U.S. Government and Department of Defense proposal efforts while establishing and maturing Trident’s internal pricing capability. This individual will develop the processes, tools, templates, methodologies, and estimating frameworks needed to support both current and future proposal activities. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience developing pricing models, Basis of Estimate (BOE) packages, and cost estimates for complex defense programs involving hardware development, manufacturing, engineering services, and production. The role combines hands-on proposal pricing with pricing capability development, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, Finance, and Business Development to create accurate, defensible, and compliant proposal pricing. This role prefers candidates in the Northern Virginia area.
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement ProPricer processes, workflows, templates, and pricing best practices across the organization.
- Develop and standardize pricing methodologies supporting engineering development, manufacturing, hardware production, and government services programs.
- Build and maintain compliant pricing models for Department of Defense and Federal Government proposals.
- Develop, review, and validate Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation.
- Create labor, material, subcontractor, travel, and Other Direct Cost (ODC) estimates in support of proposal efforts.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and manufacturing cost models supporting hardware and product-based programs.
- Support development of proposal cost volumes and pricing narratives.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, Finance, and Business Development teams to develop accurate and defensible cost estimates.
- Develop estimating relationships, historical databases, pricing tools, and reusable estimating artifacts.
- Analyze RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), technical requirements, and contract structures to determine pricing approaches.
- Support pricing reviews, executive reviews, and proposal strategy discussions.
- Train and mentor internal personnel to establish long-term pricing capability.
- Develop repeatable processes and documentation to support future proposal efforts.
- Ability to support travel or off-site work, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of related experience OR 7+ years with a Graduate degree.
- Experience supporting government contracting, aerospace, or defense proposal pricing activities.
- Advanced-level experience with ProPricer.
- Demonstrated experience establishing or improving pricing organizations, estimating functions, or proposal pricing processes.
- Experience developing Basis of Estimate (BOE) packages.
- Experience supporting hardware development, manufacturing, production, or product-based programs.
- Experience developing and analyzing Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Working knowledge of labor estimating, material estimating, subcontractor pricing, travel, ODCs, and indirect cost structures.
- Experience supporting Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus, Time & Materials (T&M), and IDIQ contracts.
- Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, and government proposal compliance requirements.
- Experience working directly with engineering and technical organizations to develop proposal estimates.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting space, aerospace, defense electronics, communications systems, satellite systems, or military hardware programs.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) environments.
- Experience supporting DCAA-compliant estimating systems.
- Experience supporting organizations such as General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Boeing Defense, L3Harris, or similar defense contractors.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Candidates local to the Northern Virginia area, specifically near Fairfax or Sterling.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $98,850 - $234,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, business considerations, and geographic location where applicable.
