About the role
National Grid is hiring a Principal Program Manager to lead our Restoration Crew Supervisor (RCS) Program in Upstate New York (Buffalo/Syracuse/Albany). This is a Hybrid role and can sit in any of our upstate NY office locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, governance, and oversight of the RCS program to ensure it supports safe, cost-efficient restoration for National Grid customers.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee the RCS training curriculum, including Day 1 & 2, Day 3, and Day 4 training, in collaboration with Technical Training.
- Establish, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the RCS program to assess effectiveness, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders (Operations, contractors, technical training, and other partners) to identify and implement program and process improvements.
- Design, implement, and manage RCS cohort initiatives (e.g., Women in RCS, Retiree, General) to support recruitment, development, and engagement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Operations’ requests for RCS resources and provide clear, timely information on availability, deployment, and program status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in utility operations, emergency preparedness, field operations, or program management, preferably in electric distribution or storm response.
- Experience designing, delivering, and/or managing technical or operational training programs.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, OSHA, local, and company safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, standards, and operational documentation; comfort working with metrics and performance data.
- Must be able to travel throughout the service territory and be willing to work extended hours, including storm assignments and system emergencies.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history required.
