About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying the company’s cloud growth, including AI. CSCP’s vision is to empower customers by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale, with a mission to provide the world's computer through an industry-leading supply chain. The organization manages traditional supply chain functions—plan, source, make, deliver—as well as supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. CSCP supports Microsoft’s over 200 online businesses, including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform, serving more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries through more than 300 datacenters.

Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP, focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale existing cloud infrastructure optimization programs.
  • Design and scale joint operating models with internal Microsoft teams.
  • Communicate strategic recommendations to senior executives with clarity, confidence, and data-driven insight.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across global time zones, applying sound judgment and influencing diverse stakeholders to drive alignment and outcomes.
  • Establish, operationalize, and manage weekly and monthly business rhythms, including metrics reviews and performance tracking.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of cloud supply chain professionals, fostering a culture grounded in respect, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including specialized screenings such as the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating in a hyperscale cloud environment.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale, high-visibility programs with measurable business impact.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to shift seamlessly between long-term strategic planning and day-to-day tactical execution.
  • Exceptional presentation and analytical skills, using data to build persuasive narratives, guide decisions, and influence senior leaders.
  • Proven collaboration, communication, and judgment in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments.

Pay

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. A different range applies to specific work locations, including the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, where the base pay range is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
