About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Production Operations role based in Baltimore, MD. This position requires a self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain day-to-day interfaces and communications between PMO, Manufacturing, Test, MRP, MA, SCM, Engineering, and Shipping
  • Achieve targeted cost and schedule requirements
  • Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution
  • Report Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and serve as the Cost Account Management (CAM) for manufacturing projects
  • Lead or participate in product teams, analyze product requirements, manage engineering and manufacturing, track products, and ensure product visibility
  • Represent manufacturing at RRB meetings and manage applicable manufacturing risks and opportunities from the program risk register
  • Support and generate proposal documentation as needed

Requirements

  • Current/Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline; or Master’s degree with 3 years of work experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related experience
  • Experience with EVMS, Basis of Estimate preparation, and/or Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Manufacturing experience of defense-related electronics preferred
  • Experience working diverse contract types (CPFF, CPIF, FFP) preferred
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigation type activities experience preferred
  • Data mining/manipulation & presentation expertise preferred
  • Executive leadership (Director or VP level) communication and engagement experience preferred
